Solid Edge

Solid Edge is an accessible, easy-to-use platform of software tools that handle all aspects of the product development process. It combines the speed and simplicity of direct modeling with the flexibility and control of parametric design – thanks to synchronous technology.
Solid Edge has an intelligent multi CAD interface and deals not only with modeling in a simple and agile way, due to the synchronous technology applied, but also with the entire process of product development and 3D projects, simulation, manufacturing, reverse engineering, data management , among others, without leaving aside the flexibility and parametric control of the projects.

Synchronous technology

Solid Edge integrates synchronous and ordered technology, so that modeling becomes simple and fast, maintaining control and parameterization of projects and models, even when imported from other software.

Parameterization allows for greater and more organized control of the model, in spreadsheet format, of the dimensions of a given draft or modeled part. It is possible to rename the variables, change them, add rules, limit intervals and formulas to their values, among other functionalities. It is also possible to integrate the Solid Edge variable table with Excel spreadsheets in a simple and fast way.

Designed for easy rendering, KeyShot, with functions built into Solid Edge, lets you quickly apply materials and lighting, creating amazing photorealistic looks in a simple yet powerful interface that provides advanced features and the ability to track changes in real time.

Thermal simulation

Solid Edge Simulation is an integrated finite element analysis (FEA) tool that allows you to validate part and assembly designs digitally in the Solid Edge environment. Based on proven Femap finite element modeling technology and the NX Nastran solver, Solid Edge Simulation helps evaluate the mechanical behavior of design parts.

With Solid Edge Simulation, you can create finite element models for solid and sheet metal structures automatically, and make adjustments to refine the mesh and improve the accuracy of the results. For assemblies, Solid Edge Simulation provides automatic contact detection and configures realistic component interactions, including linear and glued interactive contact.

Solid Edge Simulation provides all the boundary condition definitions needed to model realistic operating environments for analysis. Loads and constraints are based on geometry and are easy to configure. Validate thermal and cooling performance such as transient heat transfer with time history results.

Interpret and understand model behavior quickly with Solid Edge Simulation's graphical post-processing tools. If the results show that a design refinement is required, Solid Edge Simulation lets you easily accomplish this by using Solid Edge's synchronous technology to make the necessary changes to the model.

Evaluate and visualize how parts will interact in an assembly. Understand how a product performs throughout its operating cycle and see how it will work in the real world.

Static analysis verifies that assemblies are overloaded, based on the amount of stress placed on them, and verifies their mechanical strength.

Both steady-state heat transfer analysis and thermal stress analysis allow designers or engineers to analyze thermal conditions in mechanical or electromechanical assemblies.
